April of 2007 Marc Christopher Kohlbry initiated our internship program with a heartfelt email and a contagious sense of humor. A year later we brought him on staff after realizing he logged more hours in our stockroom than his Los Angeles apartment. Once we learned about Marc’s two parents with PhDs and an inspiring older brother we began to understand Kolbry’s capacity to service our online store while juggling university studies, making music and avidly traveling. Chris and Pam Kohlbry instilled the importance of personal relationships and integrity since Marc took his first steps in Camarillo twenty three years ago. They inspired Marc’s world view through literature, language and genuine compassion. Kolbry’s recent travels took him to his brother’s Jerusalem neighborhood for mornings of fresh Arabic coffee, hikes across the Jordan Valley and stacks of rich stories in underground Jerusalem bookshops. Marc’s recent music contribution with the closing song of our Nepal film continues to give us high expectations as he models a real friendship and ambitious global goals.
