Over the years we continue to see that our growing community has created a unique crossroad with culture and design and has enabled us to cross paths with a wide range of talented individuals. The most unique interactions come from individuals that help us see a new or improved function for an Apolis item. Recently we were unable to ignore the ongoing reviews from mother's using our Garden Bag as a baby bag. The multiple outside pockets for quick access for toddler necessities and a bag that functions like a baby bag, but doesn't fit the guilty mold of a baby bag. With Mother's Day around the corner we approached, Joy Cho, a graphic designer, blogger, food enthusiast, and the founder & editor of Oh Joy Studios. Joy lives in Los Angeles with her husband and daughter Ruby and was kind enough to let us spend an afternoon with the Cho family to document the everyday adventures of a mother making good use out of our Garden Bag.
Special thanks to Joy and Ruby for letting us invade a fun mother & daughter afternoon at their home and at Silverlake's Broome Street General Store. Visit the Oh Joy blog for a Mother's Day giveaway of the Garden Bag and if you're in the United States and want to receive the Garden Bag before Mother's Day on May 12th use the code JOYBAG for free USA ground shipping through Friday, May 3rd.
About Oh Joy Studios: Joy Cho received a major in Communications Design and a minor in Printmaking and Fibers from Syracuse University's School of Visual & Performing Arts. After working with numerous fashion clients as a graphic designer at a boutique advertising agency in New York, Joy transitioned into home accessories and textile design at Cynthia Rowley designing home accessories for the Swell line at Target. After a move to Philadelphia from New York in 2005, she decided to venture on her own and start Oh Joy Studio. Joy is also known for her line of stationery products that have been exclusively created for Anthropologie, Chronicle Books, Tiny Prints, and Target. If that's not enough, Joy also released a wallpaper collection for Hygge & West in the summer of 2010. Last but not least, Time Magazine featured the Oh Joy blog as one of the top websites in the "Design 100" issue.
