A little while back we connected with the winner of the The Economist’s 2011 Innovation Award, Marc Koska, and gradually became friends due to a shared philosophy to create lasting social change. After exchanging a few emails and calls we managed to sit down with the man himself on his way from China, where he was speaking at the World Economic Forum. His layover in Los Angeles was en route home to his lovely wife and three kids in the UK, where he runs his foundation, SafePoint, as well as Star Syringes, the company he built to manufacture the life-saving auto-disable syringe that he invented. We were able to slow down the legend of Koska long enough to shoot a short film and take him out for a meal with our family and friends – close to our office.
On October 6th, along with a new addition to our Collection assortment and Transit Issue items, we are proud to continue our ‘Apolis Conversations’ film series. The series shares the inspirational stories and the work of key people in our lives who we consider Apolis Advocates. We are honored to sit down with these individuals and gain a deeper understanding of their outlook on the future of their industry. Our third film features Marc Koska, the Founder and Executive Director of SafePoint.
