Last August we began a USA Project with local furnishing company, Matteo, located just around the corner from our office. After developing a friendship with Matthew Lenoci, Matteo's founder (Film 1m 58s), we discovered a common desire for well-made fabrics, which evolved into our August release of washed Italian linen accessories: a scarf, a bandana and a pocket square.
For this spring we have teamed up with Matteo again to release a maritime-inspired selection of accessories utilizing the same natural linen with a red marrow edge and a navy stripe. Part of our excitement for this project stems from our desire to repurpose a timeless home furnishings fabric by giving it a modern utilitarian feel while making it accessible to a new audience. Along with the navy striped scarf, bandana and pocket square, we have also released a five-panel hat in our original linen as well as a re-issue of our natural linen tie, newly fabricated in Italian linen.
We are excited to share another behind-the-scene look at their handcrafted process and this inspiring story of American manufacturing.
