We are privileged to release the Apolis + Canvas Malibu Market Bag, exclusively sold at Canvas Boutique & Gallery in Malibu, California. This is our 28th Local + Global project, connecting regional retailers with our global advocacy and helping to create consistent employment for artisans in rural Bangladesh.
Malibu, described by roadside signs as “27 miles of scenic beauty,” is one of the most desirable places to live in the world and home to pristine beaches and breathtaking views of the California coast. Because of its proximity to Los Angeles, it has become a haven for Hollywood stars and has been the setting of famous TV shows and movies for decades. Expensive real estate and winding, narrow roads keep most tourists at bay and leave Malibu relatively quiet with ample waves for local surfers at Malibu Point, Topanga, and Point Dume.
Arlington and Jacqueline Forbes believe that “everything is a canvas” and aim to marry fashion and art in their Malibu boutique. Arlington has always been passionate about fashion, while his wife, Jacqueline, is interested in helping artists display their work in galleries. These twin passions gave rise to Canvas Boutique & Gallery, a sleek, chic, shop and contemporary art space opened with partner Anthula Nunes. It features a rotating selection of exclusive fashion lines and artist exhibits, curated to create a seamless experience and proof that some marriages truly are greater than the sum of their parts.
Canvas Boutique & Gallery is a concept founded on an appreciation of contemporary art and design. Apolis is a socially responsible lifestyle brand that empowers communities worldwide. Both companies draw inspiration from the world around us and celebrate people with exceptional talent making them perfect partners for the Apolis + Canvas Malibu Market Bag.
