In March 2012 we began a conversation with iconic Los Angeles retailer, Ron Herman. We have always respected Ron’s attention to detail and astute observations of current trends in the menswear market. When the company began a conversation with us to produce an exclusive market bag for their greater Los Angeles locations, we were not only flattered, but also excited to see their team's desire to come along side our Bangladesh project, including 21 female artisians, responsible for handcrafting all of our market bags.
On September 11th, we were able to tour Ron Herman’s Los Angeles retail location on Melrose Avenue & we were hosted by shop manager, James Quirk. We were immediately impressed with the hospitality and high level of service that is engrained into the Ron Herman retail experience. Mens buyer, Dustin Finnigan, explained to us that Ron looks to the restaurant and hotel industry as a benchmark when developing customer service protocol. The research Ron’s team put into creating an exceptional retail experience has also been applied to locations in Brentwood, Malibu, Beverly Hills, and five Japanese locations. Ron Herman’s retail spaces continue to be an example for us in improving Apolis: Common Gallery in downtown Los Angeles and we look forward to continuing to work with Ron for many years to come.
