After our New York travels for Men's Market, we headed back west for much needed R&R with some of our closest friends. This summer escape found us breathing fresh mountain air at a ranch in Colorado. The 8,000 acre ranch, which is situated between Vail and Steamboat, is owned by family friends and shared with five other families. During our 5-day stay, we had the freedom to try our hands at shooting, fly fishing, motorcycling, and horseback riding throughout the backcountry and its upper valley streams. It was truly a unique chance to be somewhere so remote and beautiful. Thanks to Chef Tom, we stayed well fed with trout filets, venison stew, and homemade elk sausage. One night, we camped on the ridge, where we watched the moon rise over the campfire - while drinking wine and sharing stories. Our memorable trip with friends to this seemingly uncharted land provided an interesting contrast to our metropolitan living back home in downtown Los Angeles.
