On June 8th we were proud to host a viewing of "The Veil" a short film by Christian Padron at Apolis: Community Centre located in Soho, New York. Christian is a second-year MFA photography student at Parsons, and has diverse experience in film and photography. Throughout the evening, he shared his thoughts on making films which aim to impact communities and foster conversations.
After the debut of his film, Christian lead us in a discussion on how to create art that stiumlates healing, reflection, and conversation in our current social climate. It was a memorable evening and we are grateful to all those who partnered together to make this event a success.
Special thanks to Typical Magazine, for sponsoring the event, OHYS music, and everyone that attended our first film debut at Apolis: Community Centre. Proceeds of this event were donated to Harlem School of the Arts.
The following photostory by Enki Tovuuch, showcases highlights from the evening. We hope you will join us for our upcoming events - all of which will always be listed on this page. Or feel free to contact our Retail Manager in Soho, Benny Quinonez, for a personal invite.
