On January 23rd Apolis: Common Gallery opened the first short-term photo exhibit featuring Apolis Ambassador, Marc Koska. With Marc passing through Los Angeles on the opening night we were honored to host our second global citizen keynote as Marc shared a quick presentation about the K-1 auto disable syringe. Marc shared his story of spending 17 years to develop and sell his first syringe. Today he is responsible for distributing three billion syringes (6% of the market) and is credited for savings 10 million lives. During Marc’s keynote he shared an alarming undercover film where a nurse uses a syringe to inject a HIV positive patient and then reuses the same syringe to inject an infant in Africa. Marc’s presentation was eyeopening and his exhibit of images from the field gives life to the realities of this issue. We welcome anyone to come visit the Marc Koska photo exhibit before the installation comes down late March.
