Since we opened the doors of Apolis: Common Gallery, our first regionally-branded Apolis retail space in November 2011, we’ve hosted regular Global Citizen gatherings and recently we started our summer speaking series. The goal of our speaking series is to invite industry leaders to share their brief perspective on how their profession impacts community. Our first gathering around Food & Community was hosted by renown international chefs Marcus Samuelsson and Rohan Anderson. Our second gathering around Media & Community was hosted by Hollywood's youngest established director Jon Chu and Jon's USC film school roommate Jason Russell, Invisible Children founder. Jon and Jason shared their experience of fostering community with film and social media. The conversation and open mic Q&A was led by Ellen Gustafson Co-founder of the Food Tank and FEED Projects. It was a memorable evening that was attended by over 250+ guests. Special thanks to our friends from Heirloom LA, Pharmacie, The Pie Hole and Handsome for helping with the hospitality. We hope you will join us for our speaking series event that we will be announcing in coming weeks. Contact our Service Manager, Hilmar Skagfield, for a personal invite once details for our next event are finalized.
