Not only is Los Angeles a one-of-a-kind city, it’s also the largest art hub in America. That’s one of the reasons we were so excited to team up with the acclaimed LA artist Geoff McFetridge to introduce a truly one-of-a-kind, limited-edition market bag with an LA-themed design. Geoff’s work spans a wide range, from the film Where the Wild Things Are to murals, skate decks, and more. One of our favorite things about Geoff’s art and design is that it is eye-catching and unique, while communicating simply, effectively, and intuitively.
With a print designed by Geoff to celebrate the city of Los Angeles, the $68 USD Apolis + Geoff McFetridge Market Bag was made as part of a fundraising initiative with the Mayor of LA, and we’re happy to be able to offer a limited number to Apolis supporters like you.
We like to think of this particular bag as essentially a portable piece of art — one which also helps you get things done, whether you’re shopping at the local farmers’ market, hauling around baby supplies, or using it as a unique gift for the Angeleno in your life. Plus, your purchase actually helps people. $3 from each bag sold goes to support the Downtown Women’s Center Made by DWC program, which gives job training to women transitioning out of homelessness. And, as with all our market bags, every purchase helps provide fair wages and job benefits to the moms in Bangladesh who make the bags.
Geoff McFetridge was born and raised in Canada and studied at the Alberta College of Art before getting his MFA at Southern California's CalArts. Since then, he's lived and worked in Los Angeles, producing interdisciplinary work with a distinct aesthetic, whether in the context of books, films, murals, fine art paintings, or ad campaigns.
