We are privileged to release the Apolis + Terrain Westport Market Bag, exclusively sold at Terrain in Westport, Connecticut. This is our 20th Local + Global project, connecting regional retailers with our global advocacy and helping to create consistent employment for artisans in rural Bangladesh. Westport, Connecticut is the perfect community for our local retail partner, Terrain. After running a successful gardening and accessories store / local cafe in Glen Mills, PA, the Terrain ownership decided to open a second Terrain location just this year. Within only a few short months, the Terrain staff has already grown to love the surrounding Westport community, not least because there are five garden clubs in Westport alone, with many more in the surrounding towns.
The Westport area is teeming with rich gardening culture and the owners are ecstatic to be part of it. The Westport Terrain location was once a 1940’s Cadillac dealership, but the owners have managed to transform the building into a garden oasis in the center of Westport. The store boasts a full nursery and outdoor cafe, soaring ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a vertical orchid garden. The farm-to-table kitchen on the property, led by Chef Joe Wolfson, sources from area farms (Millstone Rose's Berry Farm, Fort Hill, to name a few) and artisan purveyors. Additionally, the store is only a bike ride from the beach, making it an idyllic location for the management and visitors alike. We have seen Terrain's local investment in Philadelphia since opening their flagship store in Glen Mills, PA, and are excited to see them continue to do the same in Westport. We are also proud to connect the community of Westport to Saidpur, Bangladesh though our Apolis + Terrain Westport Market Bag.
